Job Title: Loan Officer I

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Summary

Examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for lines of credit, commercial loans, real estate loans, consumer credit loans, or credit card accounts by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reviews, processes, closes, and administers loan proposals.
  • Interviews applicants and requests specified information for loan applications.  Develops new business (loan and depository) by marketing to new prospects.
  • Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan or submits application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation.
  • Corresponds with or interviews applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Approves loan within specified limits or refers loan to loan committee for approval.
  • Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy.
  • Monitors performance of loan portfolio.
  • Analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospects for loans.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
